OWLS (A Placeholder Post)
No this is not a post about Harry Potter exams, this is a legitimate post about owls. But a quick word before I get to that. While my semester in London has sadly come to an end, my commitment to the blog has not. I have a few posts left in me and while I'm spending the week in Italy with my parents, the month of April's posts will be a reflective batch of my time in London. Additionally, my return to the US post obviously can't happen until I return to the States, so that will come next week.
Studying Abroad: My Final Reflection
This week I leave for Barcelona and head back home to Louisville, Kentucky. It's been four months since I arrived in Spain and the time has flown by - just as I was told it would. Studying abroad has been an experience. I've tried to find an adjective to place before the word experience, but each time I write one down I delete it. Perhaps this is because there is no single adjective to describe the type of experience studying in a foreign country offers.

5 am wake up call, hour bus ride to Quito Airport, 30 minute flight from Quito to Coca Airport, 10 minute bus ride from Coca to loading docks, 2 hour boat ride in a small canoe through a torrential downpour on the Napo river, 3 hour long Chiva ride on a gravel road as the rain slowed to a stop, then back on a boat for 2.5 hours to arrive at Tiputini Research station in the heart of the Amazon Jungle in Yasuni.
Inspirations from Paris
A few weekends ago I spent a few days in one of my favorite places in the whole world. Granted, I have only been to a small fraction of the wondrous places this world has to offer, but I stand pretty confident on the hunch that Paris is my soul city.
Breaking Down Barriers
AUSTRALIAN SLANG OF THE WEEK: “A LOT” (US) = “HEAPS” (AUS)
An Ode to my Academics in London.
Hey there! Well today was the day. I took my last IES final in the world's warmest classroom (don't worry it wasn't in the IES building). Soon I will be a college senior and that thought sickens me to my core. As I sit here and type this now I have the ever-daunting 80%-of-my-final-grade monetary economics final at City University tomorrow looming over me.
