Transcripts & Credits

We will send a bill to your home address for any final charges incurred at the end of the term such as housing damages, library fines, key replacement fees, etc. You can also check and pay an outstanding balance in your MyIESAbroad account under Program Invoice. Transcripts will not be released until all financial obligations are met.

Alumni can order additional official transcripts (electronic or paper) for a small fee. We do not issue unofficial transcripts.

If you were issued a School of Record transcript and paid the $475 fee, you can order additional transcripts from the University of Rochester for a small fee. 

If you need a School of Record transcript but did not previously request one, email us at registrar@IESabroad.org for instructions.

The IES Abroad Registrar can provide an official letter verifying student enrollment for health insurance qualification, employment, scholarships, etc. To request this letter, email us at registrar@IESabroad.org.

Grades for IES Abroad courses are typically finalized within six weeks of the final day of the program. If you are taking courses at a local university, final grades may take longer due to the disparities in administrative procedures between overseas and U.S. institutions.

You will be notified by email once grades have been released and you will be able to download a grade report in your MyIESabroad account by clicking the link “My Grade Report”. Ensure that your browser's pop-up blockers are deactivated.

Non-reported “NR” grades indicate that your professor has not yet reported your grades. Six months after your study abroad program has ended, you will no longer have access to your grades online.

Grade appeals may only be considered for administrative (procedural error, computational error) or academic (content, evaluation process) reasons.

Please be aware that, except in highly unusual circumstances, the only person who can change a grade is the professor who taught the course.

An appeal must be filed within 30 days of the grade being posted on your MyIESabroad account. It is your responsibility to check grades online after the program. Grades for IES Abroad courses are generally posted three to six weeks after the program end date.

Appealing a grade from a partner institution is subject to that institution's policies, which may differ from those of IES Abroad. Please see your IES Abroad Student Handbook for more information regarding grade appeals. Full grade appeal procedure and process can also be found under our Academic Guidelines. Your transcript will likely consist of different types of information for each course you enrolled in. When deciphering things like GPA, pass/fail denotations, and universities, you can reference the general Transcript Key.

Your courses are labeled by disciplines using alphabetic codes. To understand which disciplines each code represents, reference the list of Course Discipline Codes.

Because international grading scales are different depending on the country of origin, there are different systems to use when converting your grades back to the scale of your home university. For a breakdown of the grade and credit scale for your program, contact us at registrar@IESabroad.org.
