A Weekend in the World of Wonderful Food

Festes de la Mercè
La Mercè is an annual festival that takes place in Barcelona to celebrate the Virgen de la Merced. This is a weeklong celebration that started on September 18th and ended on September 24th. The last day of the celebration is the biggest day, which included activities like a parade of the giants, Castellers (human towers), concerts, and an amazing fireworks show at the end of the day. This was a fun filled day and the best part was that all the events were free!

Kyoto ('Nuff Said)
01 October 2015
During Silver Week, a holiday or break during the Fall Semester, four other friends and I went to Kyoto for 3 days. We took the bullet train or Shinkansen straight to Kyoto Station on a Sunday afternoon. Besides moving at a speed of about 200mph, the 2-hour Shinkansen ride was just another train ride.
