Spring Break! England, Scotland, & Ireland

What's the only way to make living in Germany for 4 months even cooler? Have your best friend meet you in London, then proceed to tour the UK and Ireland, one amazing city at a time. Be sure to ask around as to what your fellow IES-ers are up to. I discovered a few friends who were also city hopping and would be in Edinburgh the exact same 2 days we were! We booked beds in the same room at a hostel, did a walking city tour together and got to go out for meals and other activities together (like hiking Arthur's Seat!) It was a great way to get to know them better and have a more unique experience melding my 2 worlds with a friend from home.

We had a week off for Easter Break when we could travel where and how we pleased. A lot of students ended up in Spain and Portugal, some to Greece and Italy, others to Croatia, a few hiked the tallest mountain in North Africa, some stayed in Freiburg and the rest had other marvelous plans around Europe! I couldn't have had such an amazing time without great recommendations from locals and from friends who'd visited or lived in these places before me, so do your research. And don't hit the most touristy places; ask someone who knows the town!

Cities we visited, some pictured and some not pictured in this video:
London, England
Chester, England
Edinburgh, Scotland
Dublin, Ireland
Cliffs of Moher, Ireland
Cork, Ireland
Howth, Ireland
Blarney Castle, Ireland
Cashel Rock, Ireland

Hello! I'm Kimberly Webber, an International Business Leadership major at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA, off roaming around Freiburg and surrounding areas for the semester! My biggest values are happiness and genuine relationships so I can usually be found in a campus cafe, socializing while pretending to do homework; at work, socializing; or hanging out in my sorority house, socializing! In my off-hours I'm a portrait photographer where my greatest accomplishments include catching my subjects off-guard and eliciting a genuine smile or laugh. I look forward to documenting my experiences abroad and hope you enjoy all the photos and videos you see here!
