David Smith

David is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a degree in Risk Management, Insurance, and Real Estate. He spent a semester abroad in the IES Paris School of Business and International Affairs in 2019, then worked with Chase Devens on their film festival submission Les Cinq Mois. He produced the music for the short film, which ignited an interest in audio mediums that has continued through the remainder of his college career. He worked again with Chase (and Lukas, who also studied in Paris) on a podcast called What Am I Doing Here?, in which they interviewed professors at their university about the place of purpose, happiness, and success in their careers. Additionally, he produces independent experimental music under the monicker ‘yiction’. Currently, David is working on a series of audiovisual projects to unite the futures of education, media, consciousness, and society in an accessible way. He thinks that without his transformative experience of studying in Paris, none of his current ideas would have the same level of complexity (or French influence).
