The Beauty of Playa Manuel Antonio

Sergio Cueto
November 10, 2014

As I mentioned in one of my previous blogs, Costa Rica has many beaches. Two weeks ago, I got the chance to check out playa Espadilla and playa Manuel Antonio. Playa Manuel Antonio is known to be one of the best beaches in Costa Rica and it is my favorite. The waves are calm, the water is clear, and the surrounding view is amazing. I highly recommend it for anyone who comes to Costa Rica. The beach is located in Quepos, Puntarenas on the Pacific coast. The easiest way of transportation is by a direct bus ride which is about $10 dollars. Tickets can be bought at the Tracopa Terminal Station located in San José. The direct bus ride is about 3 hours. In order to access playa Manuel Antonio you have to go through Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio. Though the park is one of the smallest in Costa Rica the biodiversity is rich with wildlife. The park also has access to other beaches: Espadilla Sur, Teloro, and Playita. Those who are interested can also take a tour of Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio. Though I didn’t get to photograph playa Manuel Antonio, I have included photographs from some of the sightings nearby.

I really love the color of the water in this photograph. The ocean view of playa Espadilla. One of the sights close to playa Manuel Antonio. Another view of playa Espadilla. Another sight near playa Manuel Antonio. Shore view of playa Espadilla.
