A Note of Appreciation for My Host Mom

Today is the first day of our spring break! I’m going to Geneva and London with a friend from IES. I am pretty terrible at packing and planning and tend to leave everything until the last minute. So of course last night I was trying to figure out how to fit ten days worth of clothes into a backpack while researching things to do in Geneva and London and completing an application for a summer job that’s due on Monday. Typical.

My host mom did all of my laundry so it would be done before I left, made sure I was bringing enough warm clothes, prepared my lunch for today, packed me snacks for the train, and got my breakfast ready before I went to class this morning. She told me she’s treating me like one of her own children and I love that. I am so happy to be living with a host family and even happier that I got lucky enough to have one that is so generous and caring! She decreased my stress level by a lot today and now I’m ready to enjoy the vacation! I will post pictures of Geneva and London when I return!

In the meantime, here are some pictures of Le Mont Saint Michel and Saint Malo, the last IES weekend excursion we went on. It was beautiful and extremely windy!
