My Travel Highlights

During my time studying abroad, I have traveled to many different countries, and even more cities. In this blog, I will be talking about where I traveled and what I loved about each place. If you are curious about where to travel and the benefits of each place, keep reading!

Preparing for a Spectacular Summer in Santiago!

As I was finishing out my spring semester in Indiana, I was steadily ramping up my preparations for my summer abroad in Santiago!  The spring semester was so exciting, but looking at everything that needs to happen before going abroad can be super overwhelming.  With that in mind, here are some of the things I did to prepare myself for a fun & successful study abroad experience this summer:

Everything Ends

Finally back at home, in my childhood bedroom, looking at familiar walls and faces and nightstand decorations, I don’t quite know what to feel…or who to be. In the words of a Hozier song, “All Things End”, and I find myself listening quite a lot to that one song—a song at the very end of a playlist my friends and I made to commemorate all of the little memories and moments throughout this whole semester in Granada. To be completely honest, I saved listening to that playlist until the last possible moment, to the last journey to the airport and the last plane ride back to the U.S.

You Need a Cell Phone According to IES Abroad policy, you must have a working cell phone within a week of your arrival. Students typically opt for one of the following: Use your cell phone from home if your provider offers an international phone plan. Bring an unlocked smartphone and purchase either a physical sim card or e-sim card, if available. This option is recommended.
