German Language Courses All students are required to take a German language course. You will be placed in the appropriate course level based on the online placement test and on-site interviews at the beginning of the term. Each German language course comprises 80 contact hours for four semester credits. Language courses are taught on an intensive basis during the first two weeks of the program and then continue on a regular semester schedule (3 days a week - Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays) after other IES Abroad courses begin. Please arrive in Vienna on the official arrival date by 2pm at the latest. Vienna Center Staff will be at the Vienna airport to check-in with you. You will then proceed to your housing assignment to move in. There will be a Housing Mixer the first evening.
