The University of Oxford is a famous but confusing place. There’s a reason I was given several freshers’ guides with pages and pages of Oxford-speak to English translations. The tutorial system makes things even more confusing, plus there’s just random traditions from centuries ago that still impact things today.
Never doubt the magic of getting on a Ryan Air flight for your health. In fact, I got on four different flights in the span of seven days and my mental health has never been better. The beauty of studying in Ireland is its proximity to mainland Europe, even though it might be more beneficial to study on the mainland. Irelands distance makes it a nice location in that I have my own corner of the world to live in while also having access to different areas around me.

To say I am dependent on caffeine is an understatement. It's both a blessing and a curse: as much as I love preparing my Moka Pot for its morning brew—almost like a ritual—I undoubtedly need it to thrive at the University of Auckland. Hiroshima was the last stop on my tour of Japan. I was there for a day and a half because I had to take a long (~4 hour) shinkansen ride back to Tokyo and arrive early enough so that I could reasonably wake up for class in the morning the next day, but I could’ve easily spent 2 full days in the city. After spending the previous day in Osaka, I decided to venture out to Kobe, located just a short local train ride away. Kobe is a nice place to visit if you enjoy the feel of a smaller city and want to explore some nature, walk along a waterfront, and eat some beef (yes, this is THE Kobe) all in the span of one day.
