Nightlife

Me and some other students from the program had decided to spend a weekend in Tangier. After seeing the city and grabbing some dinner, we decided to try and find a nightclub and go out dancing. We got there around ten at night, and the place was completely empty. This is pretty normal; night life in Morocco gets started later than it does in America considering that at ten at night most Moroccans are still eating dinner.

Couscous

“Inshallah” is an Arabic phrase the literally translate to “If God wills it”. It’s also used for ‘no’, ‘yes’, and ‘maybe’. So I don’t actually know what it means. Our program coordinator told us that sometimes, people we just met will invite us over for lunch or to stay the night; it’s a part of Morocco’s traditional hospitality.

Kyoto Fun ♥

We had our last IES Abroad trip ever (so sad!) recently, which was also the best one - Kyoto! I've been hyping myself up for this all semester because I've always wanted to go to Kyoto, and it didn't disappoint.

A Roundup of my Favorite Photos from South Africa

Living and studying in Cape Town was truly the experience of a lifetime. The friends I made, the memories I have, and the new things I elarned have helped me to become a global citizen that is much more aware of what the world is really like. Here are some photos that can help to articulate these experiences and all of the beutiful places and things I was able to witness in my 5 months abroad.

Missing and Remembering Buenos Aires

It’s been almost a month since my program ended in November, and almost two weeks since I arrived back at my parents’ home in the United States. Somedays, it feels like I never left the United States at all—except for the snowy weather, it feels like it’s still the summer after my freshman year of college, back when studying abroad was just a fuzzy, anxiety-inducing dream in the distance.

The Future

I know that this title makes it seem like I've had some existential awakening, and I now I have everything figured out. But I don't. Basically, I just picked the most pretentious title I could think of, and I’m taking it from there.
