This week I saw  “The Fall,” an award winning show about the Rhodes Must Fall and Fees Must Fall movements at University of Cape Town. Well, I saw it twice actually. So I guess that answers any questions about whether it was good or not.

Final Countdown

I cannot believe that it is finally happening! All of my friends have either started school or their own study abroad travels, except me. I've been patiently waiting all summer for the one day I have memorized, September 20th, to what will be the start of an amazing Senior Fall term. 

The IES Abroad Student: An Unexpected Journey

My time in the southern hemisphere is absolutely speeding by, but I’m trying to hold on to every second of it!  Spring break (which is SO weird to say since my home university just started fall classes), was an absolutely spectacular time.  In this vlog, I take you with me all around the beautiful island of Rarotonga, where I was blessed enough to spend the first week of break.  Rarotonga is the biggest island in a group of fifteen, that make up the nation of the Cook Islands.

La Belle Vi(ll)e

After two weeks, I think that I'm beginning to replace the title of "Tourist/Student" and for the title of "Native/Student". At first, it was difficult hearing only French sun up to sun down, but now I'm more used to it and am actually surprised when I hear someone around me speak English. I'm excited when I can do something by myself, like a true local! While I feel more independent in my city, I still find beautiful places and monuments when I walk around the city of Nantes.

“There are no pomegranates here, only the people of Granada.” For anyone who has spent any amount of time in this city, this local expression rings true. If there is one thing that has been abundantly clear since my arrival it is that granadinos are truly one of a kind, for those that I have met are the most warm-hearted, genuine, and lovingly beautiful people. Los profesores, los estudiantes, las familias… I feel so lucky to have met them and to be here.
