We’re excited to announce that we are participating in a new research effort with IIE’s Generation Study Abroad Initiative that focuses on the career benefits of studying abroad.

We know that studying or interning abroad has a profound impact, personally and professionally, on our alumni–and that isn't just anecdotal. In the past five years, we have conducted two separate research studies that have confirmed that IES Abroad alumni have higher rates of full time employment, less unemployment, stronger starting salaries, and exceptional rates of graduate school acceptance.

But until now, our studies on the career benefits of study abroad have been the only research of its kind in the field. This is why we are excited to be partnering with Generation Study Abroad on a national survey, in collaboration with a number of study abroad providers, in an effort to further the evidence of the role that study abroad plays in developing competencies for the 21st century job market.

How Our Alumni Can Help

We’ll cut to the chase, we’d love for you to partake in the IIE Generation Study Abroad Survey

Join your study abroad peers by contributing to the national conversation on the career benefits of studying abroad. As a partner of this important study, we would greatly appreciate your participation by taking the six-minute IIE Generation Study Abroad Survey on how studying abroad impacted your career.

The survey will cover skill sets developed while abroad, career readiness and the impact of skills on subsequent employment. Please note: You must have studied abroad during or after the 1999-2000 academic year to be eligible to take the survey.

The responses from IES Abroad alumni will be instrumental in furthering the evidence of how studying abroad impacts employability.

IES Abroad Thanks You!

We thank you for being an incredible alum/na of IES Abroad, and we thank you in advance for your participation in this survey. You can also help spread the word and encourage participation by sharing our social media posts about the survey to your own social networks, or by sharing the survey link with family and friends.
