Transcripts & Credits

We will send a bill to your home address for any final charges incurred at the end of the term such as housing damages, library fines, key replacement fees, etc. You can also check and pay an outstanding balance in your MyIESAbroad account under Program Invoice. Transcripts will not be released until all financial obligations are met.

Alumni can order additional official transcripts (electronic or paper) for a small fee. We do not issue unofficial transcripts.

If you were issued a School of Record transcript and paid the $375 fee, you can order additional transcripts from the University of Rochester at no cost. 

If you need a School of Record transcript but did not previously request one, email us at registrar@IESabroad.org for instructions.

The IES Abroad Registrar can provide an official letter verifying student enrollment for health insurance qualification, employment, scholarships, etc. To request this letter, email us at registrar@IESabroad.org.

Grades for IES Abroad courses are typically finalized within six weeks of the final day of the program. If you are taking courses at a local university, final grades may take longer due to the disparities in administrative procedures between overseas and U.S. institutions.

You will be notified by email once grades have been released and you will be able to download a grade report in your MyIESabroad account by clicking the link “My Grade Report”. Ensure that your browser's pop-up blockers are deactivated.

Non-reported “NR” grades indicate that your professor has not yet reported your grades. Six months after your program has ended, you will no longer have access to your grades online.

Grade appeals may only be considered for administrative (procedural error, computational error) or academic (content, evaluation process) reasons.

Please be aware that, except in highly unusual circumstances, the only person who can change a grade is the professor who taught the course.

An appeal must be filed within 30 days of the grade being posted on your MyIESabroad account. It is your responsibility to check grades online after the program. Grades for IES Abroad courses are generally posted three to six weeks after the program end date.

In order to appeal a grade, complete the online Grade Appeal Form.

Appealing a grade from a partner institution is subject to that institution's policies, which may differ from those of IES Abroad. Please see your IES Abroad Student Handbook for more information regarding grade appeals.

IES Abroad offers institutions and students the option of receiving transcripts via electronic delivery.

Electronic transcripting is being adopted system-wide on many university campuses across the country.  Here’s why:

• Secure: Only the intended recipient will be able to access the transcript thereby limiting the number of “hands” that touch a document. The recipient can then share it with whomever necessary.
• Timely: Official transcripts are delivered and downloaded by the recipient all within minutes on any computer as opposed to waiting for standard mail delivery.
• Sustainable: No paper, or transportation are involved in this process, and it also limits the amount of paper storage needed.

IES Abroad has partnered with Parchment to deliver electronic transcripts. Our electronic transcript looks exactly the same as the paper transcript, but it is in PDF format and is embedded with a unique digital signature. After downloading the transcript, the recipient can verify its authenticity, proving that it was created and published by IES Abroad.

The PDF transcript can be downloaded and saved to any location (on the desktop, selected folders or on a file server) selected by the recipient.  It can also be printed by the recipient. 

Designed for easy reference and retrieval, each transcript is an individual PDF document with a document name that includes the student name, program attended, and the date it was produced.  However, multiple transcripts can be delivered at once—saving time and email!

Many of our consortium member institutions enjoy the benefits of receiving electronic transcripts from IES Abroad, including Indiana University – Bloomington, Occidental College, Penn State University, Santa Clara University, William Jewell College,  and Wofford College.

The partnership between IES Abroad and Parchment also allows students to request an official transcript through our alumni transcript order system for delivery to themselves, their university, or any other destination they choose by visiting this site.
