IES Abroad offers a variety of scholarship and aid options. You will be considered for all of the below funding when you submit an aid application, with the exception of the Disability Grant, which requires a separate application.
Even before you've applied to or been admitted to your program, you can apply for need-based aid. Within five business days, we'll let you know how much aid you can plan on receiving from us to help inform your study abroad or internship decision. Funds are limited, apply early! IES Abroad Grants are available to eligible students and do not require a scholarship and aid application. Learn more about our Public University Grant, Boren & Gilman Scholarship Support Grant, and HBCU Tuition & Travel Grant. We also offer Disability Grants to students whose disabilities will incur additional expenses while abroad, which requires a supplemental application.
Save up to 20% on tuition when you add a consecutive study abroad or internship term (Semester, Summer, or January term) to your global experience.
Our scholarship and aid application will require you to submit a document detailing your current student aid profile information. Not sure what that is? Don't worry, we'll walk you through which documents we accept.
We'll use this info to determine how much, if any, need-based aid you qualify for. Within five business days we'll let you know your award amount, even if you haven't applied to or been admitted to a program.
Note that priority is given to Pell Grant recipients. Funds are limited, so apply early!
Awards are available for up to $2,000 per semester and up to $500 per J-Term. The average need-based aid awarded to a semester student is $1,580.
