Celebrating Pride in Austria

Being abroad during the summer meant that I had the very special opportunity of attending the Vienna Pride Parade. It is a huge event that draws nearly 250,000 people and serves as a great way for the community to come together and celebrate. The entire city seemed to be celebrating, before even arriving to the parade I was met with the U-bahn’s sign flashing between arrival times and the phrase “We ride with pride”.

I am sitting at the Rabat airport and I can’t help but reminisce in wonder about my time in Granada, and how I got here. Before I signed up for the sustainable development program, I have never heard of or thought about Granada. There & Back Again: Odyssey to Spain and back to Freiburg

Some weeks ago, IES Abroad Freiburg had a four day weekend - glorious, I know. Like any good student wanting to take advantage of this opportunity, I chose to travel with a good friend I made here. Ultimately, we decided to go to Spain - I knew the language, and there were several sights and places we wanted to see and experience in Barcelona and Madrid, and we figured that returning by rail through France would be very worth the expense. Since both of us are massive cheapskates, we decided to get the EU Rail Pass, as it would be the cheapest option to travel.
