Planning the perfect trip from Granada (ft. my trip to Rome)

Inevitably, most Americans make use of their time abroad to dot around various parts of Europe while it all sits so close by! Though I definitely recommend saving lots of your weekends to explore your own city and get involved with the community there,  studying abroad is definitely a great opportunity to choose a few other countries to visit while you’re in the area.

You will attend a mandatory IES Abroad virtual orientation session prior to arrival and at the beginning of the program. Orientation includes detailed information about health and safety in Sophia Antipolis and France, academic advising, cultural adjustment, housing, field trips, and other important topics. Our goal is to help you become acquainted with Sophia Antipolis and student life in SKEMA. You will also learn how to work with the IES Abroad Nice staff as a resource to supplement your immersion in university student life.
SKEMA Business School To complement your IES Abroad courses, you will have the option of enrolling in courses at our partner university, SKEMA Business School. To be eligible for partner university courses you need a minimum 3.0 GPA. If you choose to take any courses at SKEMA, there is a three-course minimum for IES Abroad students. It will not only be a unique educational experience, but it will also provide the opportunity to add another perspective of student life in France. You can also meet local students! SKEMA is a world-renowned business school located in Sophia Antipolis. The commute...
Upon arriving at Nice Côte d'Azur Airport between 9:00 am -1pm, you will be greeted by some of our IES Staff near baggage claim. They will answer questions and help you find the taxi stand or give you instruction to the tramway - so that you can head directly to your housing. Taxis from the airport to your housing cost around $30. A Tramway ride costs $10. You will be met at your housing by another one of our friendly staff, coordinators, or landlords to help you settle into your housing. They will provide you with a Welcome bag, including a schedule for next day orientation as well as the...
