Beginning Wednesday, July 1 at 8:30 a.m. Central Time, you will not be able to log in or create an account while we transition to our new student portal. Access is expected to be restored by the end of the day on Monday, July 6.

If you have started any forms in your MyIESabroad student portal, please complete and submit them by end of day Tuesday, June 30. Submitted forms will carry over automatically. Any forms that are started but not submitted by June 30 will not transfer—but don't worry, you'll still have access to the same forms in the new portal on July 6.

For more details, please review our student system upgrade information. Want a heads-up when the new portal is live? Fill out our interest form. Thank you for your patience during this transition. We're excited to welcome you into the new portal and continue supporting you every step of the way.

Future-Focused Friday: Things That Reminded Us That Kindness Makes Us Stronger

It's World Kindness Day! 💕

The last few weeks have felt stressful, right? There has been a lot of divisiveness and hatred around us, so now is a better time than ever to practice kindness and healing while staying true to ourselves.

Kindness includes all the things we champion 🏆 as part of our mission:

🌎 Global leadership

😌 Exercising patience

💭 Being open to new perspectives

🤝 Reaching out to others, as well as other qualities expressed by our new president—of IES Abroad that is—Greg Hess.

There are some healing and scientifically-proven benefits of being kind too! Consistently kind people tend to have 23% less cortisol (a stress hormone) and age slower. Kindness has also been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy, compassion, and improve mood 😀. That's enough to get us on board! ✋

But how do you spread kindness during a pandemic? 🤔 Luckily, kindness comes in all different forms and can include not only benefiting your community, environment, and loved ones, but also yourself! If you need some inspiration, here are some kindness initiatives to get you started. In the meantime, we challenge you to complete one of the acts of kindness we suggest on our Instagram story.

Ready to feel warm and fuzzy? 😍 Check out how kindness is being shared around the world already.

“And while cruelty and selfishness seem to be an unavoidable part of the human condition, to a much greater extent, so, too, are kindness, generosity, and nobility—and you’ll find these wherever you go.”

Alex Walker, IES Abroad Barcelona Assistant Director & Dean of Faculty
