Mi Cumpleaños en Madrid

Hello Readers!

I had the privilege of celebrating my 21rst birthday in Madrid! I never would have imagined that life would bring me here  had you asked me a few years ago.

Birthdays are my favorite. Not because I get to be the center of attention for a day (because I kind of hate that) but because birthdays are a reminder that my life is a gift. My friend sent me the most beautiful quote as a birthday present:

“Can you imagine if you had never been born, the wonderful thing that would be missing in this world? Something wonderful exists because it’s a pure gift. Birthdays are the physical day in which one perceives God’s love that made us, when He could have chosen not to.”  _Luigi Giussani

My birthday was amazing. I invited all of my friends: Spanish, Italian, French, and Americans. It was so beautiful to look around the table (23 people came to a small crêperie!) and realizing how awesome this semester has been, how many new faces have now become dear to me, and how much these 21 years have helped me grow.

Birthdays are my favorite.

Cheers,

Sofía
