Milan has very quickly become my beloved new home. It has been a relatively easy transition and extremely enjoyable experience so far. I love my roommates and my apartment is in a great location. We have been so busy meeting new people, seeing new things, attending intensive Italian classes, and taking in the new culture.
The food here is great, it is a lot of bread, pasta, meat, and cheese. Everything is so fresh and unprocessed. The coffee here is stronger, which I love. There isn’t much iced coffee though, which has been the biggest culture shock for us American college students. The parks are full of well dressed people relaxing, running, and playing with their adorable dogs!
Our IES Abroad group is full of great people, we have all become very close very quickly. There is always something fun going on, it’s hard to think we have only been here for 22 days. It feels much much longer. So far we have all began to master the metro and other public transportation.
