So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye

The time has come. My semester in Vienna has come to a close, but before I am officially gone, I was thinking about the many things I will miss about Vienna and my time abroad, as well as those things that I am excited about in America, and I thought I would share them here.

What I will miss about Wien:

-the public transportation

-cafes

-reading German words on street signs and then repeating them over and over again with my friends

-being asked for directions and knowing how to get there, but not how to say it in German

-the people

What I am excited for back home:

-ice in my water

-people smiling on the street

-solicitation laws

-no smoking

I wasn’t sure what to include for pictures here, so I thought I would just throw in some of my favorites of Vienna.

Schönbrunn in February before spring had arrived.

Inside the Hofburg during the ball.

The Schönbrunn gardens in May.

All the people just laying in the grass behind the Albertina when it was first getting warm.
