As my time in Barcelona has comes to a close, I want to share with everyone a list of what I will miss most about studying abroad. Number one on the list? The sunsets. Not to be dramatic or anything because I know I can watch the sun set anywhere in the world. However, there is something cathartic watching the sunset with people I had only met a few months prior taking in the most surreal views thousands of miles away from home. To be traveling the world at 21 with incredible instant friends is such a gift. I say this a lot in my posts and I will keep saying it: something as simple as watching the sunset with people you love really makes you take a step back and realize how fortunate you are. How big of an opportunity this is. Take in each moment. :)
I am grateful for the trips that I went on. I visited numerous countries for the first time—these countries were, in the order that I travelled to them: Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, and Bulgaria.
The last two weeks of my program involved studying for finals, questioning how I am going to pack all my clothes into my suitcase and fitting in last-minute activities in Berlin. Unlike most people in my program, my last two weeks also involved a visit from my family.
A few weekends ago I completed my first half marathon! I had been training for it for a while but I was still nervous when the day finally arrived. The race was around Rotorua and in the Redwoods Forest area.
