Over the past couple of months in Dublin, I have been amazed at all of the nature that I have seen so close to the city! Being from Arizona, this was a whole lot of green for my eyeballs! As someone who loves hiking and exploring, here are some of my top three places to hike near Dublin.

As my last month was quickly approaching, I realized that there were still some places in Europe that I’d like to visit while being abroad (even though this list is more accurately endless). I wanted to spend most of my weekends in Ireland, which I’m really grateful I did, but I also wanted to be here for the semester so that I could explore some other things too.
London is the ultimate commuter city. The tube, or London Underground is one of the most comprehensive train systems I’ve ever seen and makes it so that the majority of Londoners take public transit every day to work! This was no different for me, my ride to classes was 45 minutes and my transit to my internship was an hour. Additionally, my boyfriend lived at Queen Mary University of London, which was also an hour on the tube. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time on that train.
While I’ve been studying abroad here in Berlin, a commonality I’ve found is that a lot of students try to spend every weekend in countries other than Germany. I mean who wouldn’t want to take advantage of only being a few hours away from places like Italy, Spain, France, and Austria? That being said, I’ve only been out of the country for my Spring break (an in-depth blog about that is on the way lol), but I wanted to experience Germany and the various cities here to compare and contrast the cultures it inhabits.
I will be the first to admit that I get major FOMO when I hear about the amazing trips people are going on during their trips abroad, so I began questioning if I should plan more trips myself? But for the most part, I had to realize that I needed to prioritize other work and stay in my home city, Vienna. But then spring break came around and everyone’s trips got bigger and better and of course so did my fomo.
My parents called me a social butterfly, and I hated it. I was seeking to be a cool mysterious person who doesn’t talk or approach anybody in middle school and a fair portion of high school. The school I go to is called Denison University, it is a small liberal arts college in Ohio. In the bubble of about two thousand kids, most of the people would know you through a class, mutual friends, or a shared passion. I never focused on this attribute of mine for the time being.

I went on this trip with around 400 other students from all over the world, which made it even more special.
