Emily Nazario is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Music in Flute Performance at Ithaca College, where she studies with Mary Kay Robinson-Ferguson. She has performed with the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band. Emily was also a semi-finalist in the 2014 Ithaca College Concerto Competition. Emily has performed a great deal of outreach concerts at retirement homes and middle schools in the Ithaca area with her Woodwind Quintet. She also performs with her grandfather at his church in Chillum, Maryland for a yearly Thanksgiving concert of clarinet and flute music. Emily actively participates in events sponsored by the Rochester Flute Association, New York Flute Club and National Flute Associations. This past summer, she attended Le Academie du Domaine Forget in Canada where she studied with Susan Hoeppner. When Emily is home in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area for the summer, she studies privately with National Symphony Orchestra principal flute, Aaron Goldman. Emily has also performed in masterclasses with Bradley Garner, Jeanne Baxtresser, Jim Walker, Trudy Kane and the Detroit Chamber Winds. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling abroad, photography, learning French, and volunteering. Emily has spent two of her recent summers volunteering in El Salvador, where she worked with children at a local daycare, and building and repairing houses in the community.

I am a senior at Ithaca College studying flute performance. This fall, I will be studying abroad in Amsterdam, The Netherlands through IES's program: Conservatorium van Amsterdam- Direct Enrollment. I am beyond thrilled to have this opportunity to learn and grow, not only in my musical abilities, but also in life experience. I am excited to meet and connect with people from around the world, and immerse myself in a new culture.</span></p>
