With an emphasis on storytelling and creativity, the 2016 Study Abroad Film Festival became our most successful yet! Even in Europe… by Jordan Cain of Indiana University (Vienna | Spring 2016) secured the grand prize of $1,500 and a trip to Chicago to screen his film at the IES Abroad Annual Conference, held October 5-7, at the Union League Club of Chicago. But that wasn’t the only story worth seeing!

The four other finalist contenders were:

  • I Choose Openness by Thamine Nayeem (University of Richmond | Rabat, Fall 2015)
  • FOMO by Rachel Beavers, Courtney Testa, and Rod Flucas (University of Georgia, Penn State, University of the Redlands | London, Spring 2016)
  • With Love by Shannon Sotomayor (Brown University | Dublin, Spring 2016)
  • Si Sabe Algo by Paul Holden (Yale University | Salamanca, Fall 2015)

This year, once again, our students showed us the great breadth of stories that define the power of study abroad. Check out all the 13 semi-finalists films and decide which storyline most inspires you!
