The past several months have presented a multitude of opportunities for IES Abroad Santiago faculty to shine. We are especially proud to share the following updates.

Experts in Teaching Foreign Language

Professors Claudia Flores and Lucas Araya were invited to Buenos Aires to present at the III International Congress for Spanish, USAL in November 2013. Professor Flores' presentation was called "Teaching Vocabulary in Immersion," which she presented along with Rosa Bahamondes.

Professor Flores also presented a course to Spanish teachers in January 2014 at the Universidad de Chile: "Grammar and Intercultural Communication in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and Second Language."

Artwork on Display in Boston and Santiago

Professor Alejandra Wolff was invited to exhibit her art work, entitled From a Distance, at the Jewett Art Gallery and Applied Arts at Wellesley College in January 2014.

She was also invited to show three of her art pieces at the National History Museum in Santiago for the "Happenings: Recent Events in the History of Chile” exhibit this March 2014.

Congratulations to our faculty on these exciting accomplishments!
