A Letter to London

I have sat down to write this last blog post three times. Each time I walked away after deleting all of what I wrote or writing nothing at all. I can’t quite put my finger on why it’s been so hard to write and reflect on being in London. Maybe pressing submit on this blog means it’s really all over, all memories. Maybe it’s that I feel like I’m doing a disservice to everything I saw, all the people I met, and all of the experience I had by trying to sum it up in a single blog post.

How Transferrable Skills Show Up Virtually

Getting an internship or job during college, or even before, is not uncommon. When preparing for an internship or job interview, hard and soft skills are usually practiced. But what even are they? It can be really hard to pinpoint exactly what hard and soft skills will work best for each role and how to practice them effectively. What I’ve learned, however, is that hard and soft skills can be transferred from all different kinds of roles, and you never know how they’ll show up.

I am a rising senior at Washington and Lee University in Virginia.  I am an economics major with a music minor, and am proud to be a part of the track team at school.  I love to travel and spend time with friends going to lookouts and hiking the Virginia mountains.  While in Vienna, I am most excited to spend time going to concerts and witnessing different types of performances throughout the city.

My name is Ana and I am enamored by different cultures. Growing up with a mother whose family lived in Paraguay meant constant exposure to something that was so different and yet, so intriguing. I knew from a young age that I wanted to explore all that the world had to offer. My dream is to work in international marketing and be able to travel the world while learning new languages, traditions, and making lifelong friends.

My name is Maggie and I'm from Chicago, Illinois (one of the best cities in the States in my completely unbiased opinion). I'm left-handed, could watch Encanto every day, and I am a huge fan of the singer-songwriter Mitski. I study Public Policy at the University of Illinois in Chicago and am excited to learn more about Santiago. I hope to find a community away from the one I have at home and make Santiago my own.
