Weather in Seoul Keep in mind the Seoul climate when packing. The weather is fairly cold from January through February. Winters are cold, so you will want to bring warm-weather clothes. Safety Abroad in South Korea Additional Safety Information while in South Korea can be found below: Students are strongly discouraged from planning travels to North Korea. Protests are common in Seoul and even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possibly become violent. We advise students to avoid areas around protests and demonstrations when possible. Motorists can be impatient with pedestrians, so its best to always take extra precautions when crossing roads.
