Getting There, Part 2

September 3, 2013

Following our day in Switzerland, we headed towards Italy! Our first stop was Bergamo. Both my parents have been here before with our Italian friends, so they knew exactly what to do. We headed to the old city, taking the funicular to the lower part. I was taken to the sights and we then sat down and grabbed a quick bite.

Next, we headed to the upper part. Compared to the lower area, the upper does not have much to do. However, we came to Bergamo to not only sightsee but to surprise our Italian friends’ sons Matia and Andrea. Matia being older was more suspicious and knew something was up, but Andrea was completely surprised. We enjoyed a great dinner and evening with Matia, Andrea, their grandparents, and their aunt and uncle. We said our goodbyes and got to bed to head to out next destination.
