<p>I'm Dani - a leftie, a henna artist, and a wannabe world-traveler. My passion for exploring began when I was 10: taking inspiration from Indiana Jones, I fancied myself "Indiana Dani." Ecuador will be my second time studying abroad, as I spent a semester last year in Granada, Spain. I'm hooked, and hope to one day work in this industry!</p>

<p>I grew up in Colorado, but moved across the country to attend college in Maine. I'm an economics and Hispanic Studies double major with a minor in math, but writing is my real passion. I work for my college newspaper and have done other work for several blogs, magazine, and websites.</p>

<p>Hey, I'm Alexis! I'm a born and raised San Diego, California girl and (no surprise here) I love the beach, warm weather, and all things outdoors--from riding bikes on the coast to exploring hidden hiking trails. However, my biggest passion in life is softball. I have been playing for ten years now, and I currently play in college (go tigers!). In the summer I help coach youth softball teams and serve as a camp counselor. I love being around people, sharing my energy with others, and just having a good time living life!</p>

My first ever "book" was entitled "Nannette the Wonder Cat" a series of short stories based off the adventures I imagined my cat, Nannette, went on while I was at school all day. I think I was in 2nd grade when that started. I had written the book and illustrated it too. It was quite the little imagination I had. Telling stories and taking photos has been a part of my life since forever and I personally have such an interesting story that I have considered writing a blog on multiple occasions. I think that this opportunity through IES Abroad, to begin my blog while having the experience of a lifetime would serve as a great medium for me to express myself while I am in Siena as well as give me the practice so I can maintain a blog for a long time after my journey with IES Abroad ends.</span><span style="text-autospace:none"><span style="font-size:16.0pt"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times&quot;,serif"> </span></span></span></p>

<p>I am just your average dog-loving, cheese-obsessed girl going into my last year as an undergrad.</p>

<p>Hello! I'm a current junior at Grinnell College, studying sociology and planning to go into public health policy. Outside of classes, I stay busy by volunteering to help (and play with!) dogs at the local animal shelter and organizing around national issues with other on-campus student activists. This semester in Cape Town will be my first time out of the United Staes, and I'm beyond excited to see where it takes me.</p>
