IES Abroad staff will provide you with guidance on how to apply for Queen Mary housing. You will receive your housing offer from Queen Mary via email, and will be responsible for accepting their housing offer online. Detailed instructions will be given by IES Abroad staff on how to do this.
IES Abroad students live in the Student Village, located on Queen Mary's campus. In the past, IES Abroad students have typically been placed in Maynard House or Varey House within the Village; however you may be placed in a different house. Les Grèves: Living in France during the Retirement Controversy

            As you might already know, the French like to make their voices heard. Many times throughout history, we have seen that the “French” way to do things is to protest, which has proved to be very successful throughout history. While I’ve clearly seen things of this caliber in the states, I’ve never quite seen a standoff quite like this one, which concerns the retirement age in France.

Back to Portugal: Struck by Homesickness while Abroad

On March 17, I went with IES Abroad Salamanca on a fantastic trip to Portugal. The trip was included in the program cost, so everyone was extremely excited to go. We left Salamanca bright and early and made our way by bus to the city of Coimbra. This city houses the oldest university in Portugal like Salamanca does in Spain. The city was absolutely beautiful. There were tons of windy roads and fun shops. The university itself housed many impressive buildings, including a breathtaking library that was used in filming Beauty and the Beast (2017).
