High temperatures average 85ºF in June. When packing clothes, remember to bring layers as temperatures can vary considerably between morning, midday, and evening. Plan to arrive at the Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN) between 8am and 4pm on the official arrival date. IES Abroad staff will leave the airport at 5pm, so please arrive in Barcelona no later than 4pm to allow time to go through customs/immigration, retrieve luggage, and meet IES Abroad Barcelona staff at airport arrivals. Summer 2025 Program Calendar Book your flights according to these official program dates. Please keep in mind flight times and time differences when booking your tickets. In many cases, you may need to depart the day before to arrive in your program host country on the official arrival date. It’s crazy to think I’ve already returned from Sydney. I feel like it was just yesterday I was landing at the Sydney airport, meeting my internship coordinator for the first time and fighting jet lag. Now I’ve returned to a life of sweet tea, lots of queso, and free to-go cups.

Post-Program Adventures: South America

Has your IES Abroad program come to an end, but you want to keep exploring?  Do you want to take advantage of the time you have outside of the US?  There are so many opportunities post-program if you’ve caught the travel bug & aren’t quite ready for that flight home yet!  From staying in Santiago to exploring Chile to checking out the rest of South America, this post will dive into some of the options for post-program adventures – including my personal travel plan after my time in Santiago.
