Holiday Availability: All IES Abroad offices will be closed on Dec 24, Dec 25, Dec 31, and Jan 1 as we take some time to celebrate. During the weeks of 12/22 and 12/29, our team will be smaller, so responses may take longer than usual. Thanks for your understanding—and happy holidays!

Itinerary Ideas for a Three Day London Trip

  • Take a morning coffee walk through Hyde park, London’s main city park. Check out spots like the serene Italian gardens, the Princess Diana Memorial Garden, and the Peter Pan statue.

  • A few blocks away from Hyde park is the Natural History Museum. You can spend hours in here, but it is also free entry (as are nearly all the museums in London), so it’s worth at least a half hour of your time. I would at the very least walk through the main hall which holds a blue whale skeleton as well as a slice from a giant sequoia tree.

Reflections On my Time Abroad

I just finished my semester in South Korea and, now that I’m back at home, I feel I have a newfound perspective about the experience. I’d like to share some of my thoughts and reflections about studying abroad to help you or anyone else make the decision to go abroad or prepare for your future abroad experience.

Must-Haves While Studying Abroad

Favorite specialty products - Since I have curly hair, I need to use specific hair products that I learned can only be bought in America. Because none of the shampoo, conditioner, or leave-in products were intended for my hair while I was in Italy, I had my parents bring it when they visited. So everything that is a small, non-international brand should be brought with you!

A Bittersweet Goodbye

Sometimes good things need to come to an end and unfortunately studying abroad is one of those things. Reflecting on my time in Milan, I truly had such an amazing experience. My study abroad experience was everything I had hoped for but in some ways nothing like what I was expecting.

How IES Abroad Rabat Is Helping Me Build My Career

During my fall semester in Rabat, I was able to participate in a semester long internship through the Social Action Internship Seminar. As an international affairs major, finding professional internship experiences abroad is exactly what I am looking for. On top of this, I was able to use the credit from the seminar class that accompanies the internship to fulfill degree requirements. This was a unique opportunity that I am confident will prepare me well for my future.

Home Sweet Home

My flight back was a long one, if one thing I learned about flying from California to Madrid is to take one non-stop flight instead of one with e connecting one. It was a long journey from my first flight leaving 11 a.m. from Madrid and not getting to California until 11 p.m. The math is too much and complicated at the moment but basically spent a whole day traveling. However, that didn’t stop me from finally being able to see my family. I missed them so much but my body could no longer take it and I knocked out from how exhausted I was from carrying my heavy luggage’s around.
