“We are honored to receive this award which will go far to make this life-changing experience more accessible to our students. Design is about understanding human behavior, and for a young designer to have an opportunity to experience cultures and behaviors outside of their known environment it is a transformational opportunity.

Our faculty-led abroad program is aimed at design for public space, with an emphasis on public health and environmental sustainability. Through the lenses of design-thinking, product design, and graphic design, we will challenge our students to imagine a public intervention that can affect positive behaviors and change within the context of the city streets of Barcelona. Imagined outcomes may address humans, plants, and animals, and could range from any combination of interactive structures, public furniture or lighting, and graphic installations and way-finding.”
