What’s your Season? ‘Cause I’m also a Deep Winter, or a Strong Winter…

Getting a color analysis done is very interesting and fun, especially when going with a friend or two.

I’ve done four different color analysis with some friends and family from four different places. I went to ColorByNari first with, let’s say Friend 1, then BeautyPlay second with some other people, The Bom (Studio Bomnal) with Friend 2, and Color Signal with Friend 3 and my sister.

Check out Part 1 to see the first post :)

The Bom (Studio Bomnal) - Myeongdong - 588,00 Won which was $401.17

At The Bom my friend and I did the Personal Color + Make-up + Skin Analysis which is why it cost 588,00 Won which was $401.17 for us total. Just the Personal Color, the actual color analysis, is 130,000 Won which is about $90.

We first met with our translator, as the entire analysis was in Korean, and she was very nice and friendly! Before we did the Personal Color analysis we were given an explanation about what all the seasons actually mean. Then we were given a survey to fill out, asking questions like “what colors do you tend to wear?” and “have you ever done a color analysis before, and if you have what did you previously get?” After that, we were told to clean our faces so the make-up part of the analysis later could be done.

I got my color analysis done first and similarly to all color analysis places had all the swatches to determine that I’m a Deep Winter. The color analyst showed us our best colors and our worst colors and explained that there were some secondary colors that could still work.

When my friend got hers done she was determined to be a Bright Spring. The layout of where we got this done was very big and spacious making it very easy to see each other as we got our color analysis done. The color analyst gave enough pauses during the process to let us take pictures of each other and had a phone stand for us to record ourselves during the whole process.

After we had our seasons determined the analyst looked over some of our make-up and let us know if they fell within our seasons or not and then recommended some.

If you wanted a really quality color analysis I would highly recommend this place!

The skin analysis also had a survey asking questions like, “what is your morning and night skincare routine?” and “how much water do you drink and sleep do you get?” From there we had got a few scans of our faces done to see the inner layers of our skin and then got recommended some skincare products to use.

The one fault of this scan, was that it had more data for those who are Korean/East Asian. Because of this, it wasn’t nearly as accurate for my friend who’s South Asian while it was more accurate for me since I am East Asian. Regardless of this, the analyst was still very helpful in recommending products and explaining what the scans all meant to my friend.

After this, all my friends and I got our make-up done and both enjoyed the process. When your done, the make-up artist will either let you take pictures of the products they used or you ask to take pictures of what they used.

My friend and I both thought that this was very worth the price and would recommend.

Color Signal - Gangnam - 330,000 won

Color Signal has a few different options available, but my sister, friend, and I chose to do the Premium Personal Color. For all 3 of us, it was 330,000 won which was $232.65. I chose to book their services through Instagram and they let me know that I could pay in Won or USD, 330,000 Won or $260 USD. Before picking whichever currency, check if one is cheaper than the other, because 330,000 Won is cheaper than $260 USD.

Our color analyst was very kind and spoke fluent English. The room we were in was very spacious and didn’t have to move too much to see each other as we got our seasons determined. We were all given a short survey to fill out with questions like “what are you most curious about? Hair color, jewelry, etc.” and “what colors do you prefer wearing?”

My friend went first and was told she’s a Bright Spring. She was told her best and worst colors and wasn’t too shocked to be told that she’s a Bright Spring. The analyst also looked back at the survey we filled out and showed her that the colors she preferred were fine, but not her best. I went next and was told that I was a Strong Winter, which is between a deep winter and a bright winter. Since this was my fourth time getting this done, I wasn’t that shocked at getting a winter that did well in saturated darker colors. My sister went after me was told that she’s a Light Spring. She wasn’t expecting that, but realized she does wear colors that fall under Light Spring when she wears specific outfits.

After this we were told which jewelry color looks best on us and what kinds of jewelry we should wear from our earrings to bracelets. After this, the analyst looked over some of our make-up and let us know if they fell within our seasons or not and then recommended some. On the packets she gave to us that let us know everything that she was telling us, she did some make-up samples on them to let us know what could be a good look.

If you wanted a quality color analysis that isn’t going to cost hundreds of dollars, I would highly recommend this place!
