Cape Town is a city that has a little bit of everything for all sorts of interest. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or a brunch person. There is something in Cape Town for you. While in Cape Town you should definitely visit the different beaches and wine farms, but there are other activities for you to do. These activities range from a little bit more pricey to free 99.  Here is a list of 10 activities you can do in Cape Town.

  1.  Sunset cruise at V&A waterfront:  You can rent out a boat at the waterfront and watch the sunset. In order to make it cheaper, gather a large group of people to join you. It’s a great activity for the beginning of the semester to help your IES Abroad program bond with one another.

  2. ATV Sand Dune Riding: This activity is outside of Cape Town in Atlantis. Go on a nice sunny day and explore the large Sand Dunes with skilled guides.

  3. Karaoke at Mojo Market: Visit Mojo Market and try out foods from various cultures. Most importantly, every Monday @7pm you can listen and participate in karaoke.

  4. Play putt putt: For just R44 you can go to Mouille Point and have a little friendly competition in the game of putt putt. It is like mini golf, but per my Cape Tonian friends words "it is not mini golf, it is putt putt!"

  5. Paint Pottery at the Pottery Cafe: This cafe has a wide selection of pottery that you can paint, while you enjoy the wide selection of food and drinks offered on the menu.

  6. Thrifting in Observatory: Although the prices can be far from thrifty, there are a lot of unique pieces you can find in the thrift stores in Observatory.

  7. Live Music at the Jazz Bar: Visit The Athletic Club & Social Jazz bar and experience live jazz music.

  8. Picnic at Signal Hill: Take a trip to Signal Hill during the sunset, and enjoy a picnic while you look over the Cape Town landscape.

  9. Rollercade: Take a trip to Rollercade a skating rink located in a parking garage.

  10. Museum of Illusions: At the Museum of Illusions, you can engage in a variety of brain games and illusions.
