Ready, Set, On to a New Adventure

As I sit here on my last day of work I am anxious, nervous, and most of all excited for my journey to Milan to begin in just a few short days.  After traveling to Dubai In January the travel bug hit me and I knew I wanted to spend a semester abroad.  After researching and dreaming of cities and countries I would love to travel to I found Milan. It was the perfect fit for me.  I am overwhelmed with the amount of packing and last minute details I have yet to do as I leave in just two short days but I am enjoying every last minute of my summer spent in Washington.

This summer was busy, like most as I worked hard to save up money for my trip as well as to travel on my free time. I have one of the best jobs as I nanny two little girls, who have become part of my family and will miss terribly while I am away.

I did however enjoy my summer and got to travel to South Carolina for a good healthy vacation.  My first stop was Columbia where I spent the majority of the trip, but I also got to explore Florence ( where my sister attends college and play volleyball) and Charleston.  I absolutely fell in love with the south and will certainly be back for many more visits.  I also enjoyed my time in Washington filled with going hiking, BBQs with friends and family, wedding celebrations, and days in the park with my dog.

Now that summer has come to an end I am ready for this next part of my life to begin.  I am ready to step out of my comfort zone and move to a different country for 4 months to have the experience of a lifetime.  I am ready to meet new friends, explore a new city, learn to speak italian (as I know nothing, yikes!) and have an amazing trip full of new learning experiences that I will remember forever.

Off to pack my life away!
