IES Internships offers scholarships and aid specifically designated for full-time summer internship students, in addition to select IES Abroad scholarships and aid for which you may be eligible. Please note that full-time semester internship programs are not aid-eligible.

Barbara A. Barker Vienna Summer Internship Scholarship
This scholarship is in memoriam of Barbara A. Barker, an alumna of the IES Abroad Vienna Class of 1968-69, whose time in Europe allowed her to discover her passion for art, culture, and music. It is open to underprepesented students who are enrolling in the Vienna Summer - Internship program. Learn more about this scholarship and eligibility.

Employee and Alumni Donor-Driven Aid
IES Abroad and IES Internships alumni and staff generously contribute a cumulative amount of more than $100,000 towards full-time, summer internships scholarships each year. Learn more about donor-funded scholarships.

Gilman Scholarship Support Grant
Our Gilman Scholarship Support Grants offer recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship the opportunity to apply for additional financial support. Grants of $500 will be offered for summer programs, with no application required. We will contact you after the Gilman Scholarship Program makes its award announcements.

Hemera Foundation Social Impact Summer Internship Scholarship
This scholarship was initiated by the Hemera Foundation, which supports innovative organizations and programs that foster basic human goodness in individuals and society. Toward this mission, the Hemera Foundation Social Impact Summer Internship Scholarship will support and inspire students to pursue summer internships within philanthropic or direct service/social service organizations.

In addition to the aid you may receive from IES Abroad and IES Internships, as well as your school, you may be able to put funds from other, outside resources towards your experience—review our list of additional funding resources. Note that many of these opportunities are designated for study abroad, rather than internship programs and may not apply if your program is in the United States or does not meet term or credit length requirements.
