IES Abroad is pleased to announce our new programs for 2011-2012.

Based on recommendations from our study abroad colleagues, student feedback, and the results of our own rigorous program evaluations and surveys, these new programs are designed to further meet the needs and desires of students.

Galapagos Islands Direct Enrollment Program

The Galapagos Islands Direct Enrollment program brings students to one of the world’s most beautiful and biologically-diverse island locations to study topics in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Marine Ecology, and Sociology. The program offers students the choice of three tracks of study: Evolution, Ecology & Conservation; Marine Ecology; and People, Politics & the Environment.

Madrid Engineering Program
This program is designed for engineering students who want to take Engineering courses taught in English or Spanish at one of the most prestigious Engineering universities in Spain – Universidad Carlos III. Students enroll in one Spanish language course and may choose to take up to four engineering courses taught at Carlos III.

Berlin Metropolitan Studies & Architecture Summer Program

This English-taught program explores topics in Urban Studies, Architecture, and Environmental Studies in Berlin, a city that has both rebuilt and redesigned itself over the past century.

Kunming Summer

This program in the capital of Yunnan province provides students the unique opportunity to study environmental or economic issues in China while also learning Chinese in one of two program tracks: Environmental Studies or China & Southeast Asian Development.

Auckland Interterm (January & February 2012)

Students planning to study in Auckland for the Spring term are encouraged to apply for the Auckland Interterm program to earn additional academic credit, become acquainted with the city of Auckland, and meet local and other international students before the Spring term has even begun. Students enroll alongside local students at the University of Auckland for a true taste of Kiwi student life.
