IES Abroad is pleased to announce important changes to our program offerings in Shanghai, China, that will allow us to sustain a higher level of commitment to quality academic offerings, student services, and support.

Effective Fall 2014, our two current Shanghai semester programs—21st Century China and Business in China—will be combined into one program: the 21st Century China Program.

New Partner University
Our combined program will be based at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU).

SJTU is one of the top universities in China, including:

  • The university ranked fifth in China in the 2013 QS University rankings and 27th in Asia.
  • SJTU offers 12 disciplines that rank in the top 1% internationally.
  • Its business school is one of top 50 in the world.

New Courses
The combination of these programs will give students access to a broader offering of strong academic courses. View a full list of course offerings

New Housing Option
Students may choose between homestays and living in apartments in a centrally located apartment building with other IES Abroad students. The apartment building has a health club with a swimming pool, and is located 0.5 kilometers away from Huaihai Road and Peoples’ Square, 1 kilometer away from Nanjing Road, and five stops by subway from the SJTU campus.

Due to changes in Chinese visa regulations, internships in Shanghai will not be available at this time.

Interested in enrolling this fall? Submit your application by June 2, 2014.
