For our Spring 2015 students, the end of the semester (and the return home) is on the horizon. The realization that Emily Xouris (Amsterdam, Spring 2015) had entered her final month abroad reenergized her, and she aimed to spend every free moment exploring.

In Our Blog Post of the Week, Emily shares her recent adventures with us. Last weekend, she rode her bike to a part of Amsterdam she hadn’t discovered yet and found a Turkish market; she kayaked out to the sea with a group of friends; and she experienced the craziness of King’s Day in Amsterdam, when the city comes alive with DJs, dancing, food vendors, and more.

On her walk home from the King’s Day celebrations, Emily contemplates her choice to study abroad in Amsterdam, “The canals were sparkling, the windmill next to our apartment was spinning, and the sun was setting on the sea. Confession time. I actually had no idea why I decided to study in Amsterdam…As we were walking back, however, I had no idea how I could have chosen any other city.”
