40 New Courses Approved Starting Fall 2014

At IES Abroad, academic quality is a top priority. All courses undergo rigorous evaluation and review by the Curriculum Committee before being offered to students. In its March meeting, the IES Abroad Curriculum Committee reviewed 41 total courses, of which 40 were approved.

Following is a full list of the newly approved courses by program that are eligible to be taught starting in Fall 2014:

  • LT 4xx - German Literature from Wolfgang Borchert to Jenny Erpenbeck: A Creative Approach to Selected German, Austrian and Swiss Masterpieces of the Last 60 Years (syllabus coming soon!)

Rio de Janeiro

  • MK 2xx - Sports Marketing from an International Perspective (syllabus coming soon!)
  • SO 2xx - The Social and Cultural Background of Sports in Brazil (syllabus coming soon!)



  • AS/ES 3xx - China's Development and Environmental Challenges (syllabus coming soon!)
  • CM 3xx - Intercultural Communications Competence (syllabus coming soon!)
  • EC/PO 3xx - Chinese Economy and Politics Transition and Development (syllabus coming soon!)
  • IR/PO 3xx - Cooperation and Conflict: International Politics in East Asia from a Chinese Perspective (syllabus coming soon!)
