Málaga Bound

January 29, 2014

It’s finally starting to feel real! My plane leaves tomorrow morning, and soon I’ll be in Málaga, Spain on my way to my final destination, Granada. My bags are packed (well, stuffed) with only the essentials… Seventy pounds of “only the essentials.” I made a final trip to Bowdoin last week, and found it harder than I had anticipated to say goodbye. Although I’m excited for Spain, I can’t help feeling as though I’m leaving something very special behind. It’s definitely bittersweet, but I can’t wait to explore a new place with new people. Hasta pronto, España!

Seventy pounds of “essentials.”

Present for my host mom! Taking a lot of self control not to eat these on the plane…

Feeling prepared

Spent a final week at Bowdoin to say goodbye and celebrate my 21st birthday.

I'm an Anthropology major, Spanish minor, and am also pursuing a pre-health track in order to one day attend medical school. I love to run, and can't wait to explore the trails in Granada and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. I'm excited to get to know a new city from the inside out, and want to visit as many quirky coffee shops as possible, immersing myself in Spanish language, culture and cuisine.
