About the Program
Length: Summer - Three weeks
This program focuses on public health as a driver of community development and human well being and engages with local experts and practitioners to illustrate the relationship between health and community. Students will hear about issues affecting communities in Cape Town, such as gender-based violence, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, drug abuse, and alcoholism.
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee the availability of all housing, excursions, cultural events, guest lecturers or tours.
Academics
Academic Program includes:
- One School Faculty taught course (content TBD by the University, not transcripted through IES Abroad Registrar)
OR - Enrollment in one Customized course: HL 340 Public Health Dynamics in Southern Africa - 3 credits with IES Abroad-sourced faculty.
