U.S.-Based Customized Program Manager (CPM) and Coordinator (CPC):

• Will assist your students in planning and preparing for your program.

Chicago-Based Dean of Students Office and Crisis Management Team:

• Available 24/7 in case of serious student emergencies.

Center-Based Staff (Program Manager/Coordinators):

• Available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Will be your Center contact for the program and work closely with you to prepare and implement the program. Will accompany students on all IES Abroad-sponsored events.

CISI Insurance (Required): 

• This insurance covers IES Abroad students, faculty, and guests anywhere in the world during the specified program dates. Coverage includes doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, mental health treatment, and prescription drugs.

Orientation (Required): 

• Virtual and on-site orientations, including overview of the Center and the city, and comprehensive health and safety.

City Tour:

• Program includes a guided city walking tour.

Meals:

• Welcome and farewell dinners to build sense of community and cohesion within the cohort.

Airport Greeting:

• Organized airport greeting and transfer available via bus service.

Student Housing:

• Students will be housed in residence halls, which include 17-21 meals per week, excluding holidays. Kitchen facilities are available and internet is provided.

Program Leader (Faculty/Staff) Housing:

• The program leader will be housed in a studio or one-bedroom furnished apartment within walking
  distance of the IES Abroad Center. No meals are provided, but kitchen facilities are available. 

Site Visits Within City:

• Course-related trips/activities for each IES Abroad course with different organizations or associations may include the following (through USAL): Infoautismo, DNA Bank, ASPRODES, or UNIdiVERSITAS.

Day Trips Outside of City:

• Program may include two day trips out of the city that highlight the context of the immediate region. Examples include: Zamora & Toro (including a winery visit in a region famous for its wine) and Segovia, known for having one of the longest and best-preserved Roman aqueducts.

Field Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes one three-day excursion built into the program that may be linked thematically to courses. Accommodations, activities, and some meals to be included. Examples include: Cantabria, Andalucia, Portugal.

Cultural Events:

• Program includes cultural events such as: language exchange, recycling activities, bike rides, Spanish cooking class, and dance classes.

Available upon request. Includes cost of all program components listed above. Does not include international airfare to/from the host country. Ten student minimum required to run the program.
