About the Program
Length: June or January - three weeks
We invite you to consider Amsterdam as the ideal location for hosting a short-term study abroad program focused on Gender and Sexuality Studies. This program leverages the city’s globally recognized leadership in inclusivity and equality to provide students with a transformative academic and cultural experience. Tailored for students interested in Gender, Sexuality, and Intersectional Studies, the program combines rigorous coursework with co-curricular activities that draw directly from Amsterdam’s rich social history and vibrant communities. Amsterdam’s progressive policies and diverse population offer a unique context for exploring global issues, from LGBTQ+ rights to feminist movements.

Academics
Academic Program includes:
- One School Faculty led course (content TBD by the University, not transcripted through IES Abroad Registrar) - preferred option for three-week program
OR - Enrollment in one customized course, including, but not limited to: GS/SS 340 - Sex and Science: Dutch Medicine and Intersex; GS/SS 315 - Introduction to the Study of Sexuality and Gender in the Context of Amsterdam.
