U.S.-Based Customized Program Manager (CPM) and Coordinator (CPC):

• Will assist your students in planning and preparing for your program.

Chicago-Based Dean of Students Office and Crisis Management Team:

• Available 24/7 in case of serious student emergencies.

Center-Based Staff (Program Manager/Coordinators):

• Available 24/7 in case of emergencies. Will be your Center contact for the program and work closely
  with you to prepare and implement the program. Will accompany students on IES Abroad-sponsored
  events.

CISI Insurance (Required): 

• This insurance covers IES Abroad students, faculty, and guests anywhere in the world during the specified program dates. Coverage includes doctor’s appointments, hospital stays, mental health treatment, and prescription drugs.

Orientation (Required): 

• On-site orientation, including overview of the Center and the city, and comprehensive health
  and safety.

Walking City Tour:

• Program includes a guided walking tour, with possible themes including Migration, History of
  Colonialism, and Race History in the United Kingdom.

Meals:

• Enjoy two delicious meals (Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner) at London's most-loved restaurants to build sense of community and cohesion within the cohort.

Airport Transfer Support:

• IES Abroad will provide detailed instructions to students and faculty members on how to get from the airport to the check-in location.

Transportation Passes:

• Local transportation passes will be provided for the period of the program.

Student Housing:

• Students will be housed in double rooms at a modern residence hall or in shared apartments. No meals are included, but kitchen facilities are available. Linens, weekly cleaning, and Internet are included.

Faculty Housing:

• Faculty Directors are typically housed in self-catering studio apartments, each with a fully-equipped
  kitchen and Wi-Fi.

Site Visits Within City:

• Program includes five integrated site visits that bring together academic focus with tourist interests. Examples include: Black Cultural Archives, the British Museum, East London and Brick Lane Tour.

Day Trips Outside of City:

• Program includes two day trips out of the city that highlight the context of the immediate region.
  Includes roundtrip transportation and local site visits. Potential day trips may include: Brighton
  and Liverpool.

Cultural Events:

• Program includes two cultural events such as a cooking class, theater performance, Black Diaspora
  tasting event.
