Beginning Wednesday, July 1 at 8:30 a.m. Central Time, you will not be able to log in or create an account while we transition to our new student portal. Access is expected to be restored by the end of the day on Monday, July 6.

If you have started any forms in your MyIESabroad student portal, please complete and submit them by end of day Tuesday, June 30. Submitted forms will carry over automatically. Any forms that are started but not submitted by June 30 will not transfer—but don't worry, you'll still have access to the same forms in the new portal on July 6.

For more details, please review our student system upgrade information. Want a heads-up when the new portal is live? Fill out our interest form. Thank you for your patience during this transition. We're excited to welcome you into the new portal and continue supporting you every step of the way.

Most Financial Aid Awarded in IES Abroad History...Again!

Victoria Bruick

At IES Abroad, we’re dedicated to making study abroad more accessible and affordable for our students through study abroad scholarships and financial aid.

So we’re excited to announce that in 2017 we awarded $5.1 million for the 2017-18 academic year for study abroad and summer internship students! This was a 21% increase in aid from 2016-17 (when we awarded $4 million in financial aid), resulting in the most financial aid awarded in a single year in IES Abroad history.

Over 2,700 aid offers were made to students from more than 175 schools. Students used our universal aid application, and were able to apply online for all our financial aid opportunities at once including our Need-Based Aid, Public University Grant, Donor-Funded Scholarships & Grants (such as the new Benesch Endowed Scholarship), Diversity Scholarships, Disability Grants, and more.

While we have awarded $30 million in financial aid in the past 10 years, and more than $55 million since our founding in 1950, we continue to identify new ways to increase accessibility, while enhancing the study abroad field’s highest standards of academic excellence and student health and safety.
