It’s no secret, we love spreading the word about study abroad—and we know the best people to hear from about it are the students.

This wouldn’t be possible without our student Correspondents. Each term, they take us all along for the ride, sparking inspiration for your next adventure through compelling blogs, laugh-out-loud social media posts, and magazine-worthy photos. Once a year, from a cohort of more than 260 Correspondents, we recognize the stellar work across blogs, social media, and photography.

We’re excited to announce that the 2025 Correspondents of the Year are:

  • Nina Pollak | Trinity University | IES Abroad Granada | Spring 2025
  • Samantha Morinville | University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill | IES Abroad Barcelona | Spring 2025
  • Yaroslava Yashchuk | Williams College | IES Abroad Auckland | Spring 2025

Their work didn’t just embody the magic of study abroad; it wowed the audience with their unique points of view and impressive content quality. From heartfelt posts during their time abroad to topics that resonate to the present and beyond, we know their work will leave an impression long after their terms. To all of our Correspondents, we want to extend a huge thank you for letting us see study abroad through your eyes and inspiring readers to take the leap of studying abroad.

Dreaming about study abroad? Meet the students who are showing others what's possible—and why taking the leap is worth it.

Our 2025 Correspondents of the Year

“Nina is a perfect candidate for COTY. In her time blogging in Granada, her content was consistently useful, kind, encouraging, and unique to her story. While I [Caroline] was in Granada, Nina took me to a coffee shop and around her local haunts - she put in extensive effort for something that wasn't even a requirement. She wrote about her love for her host mom, how she forged connections by joining a [mens] soccer team while she was away from training for her university team, and how she built upon her Spanish skills abroad. I think Nina was the perfect balance of a relatable student but also”

“Samantha truly embodied everything a correspondent should be. Her content was inspiring, creative, and insightful for new students, all while being exceptionally well produced and expertly edited. One of her videos was selected and very successfully ran as a TikTok ad—a testament to both its quality and impact. She covered an impressive range of topics and video formats, offering valuable advice on everything from homestays to what students can expect during their Barcelona study abroad experience, and even engaged her fellow students in content with her!”

“This student had the highest percentage of high quality photos by nearly a 7% margin. This student knows how to capture beautiful landscapes, but also has a knack for incorporating students into them in a way that produces a perfectly marketable study abroad photo. She covered life in Auckland, personal trips, field trips, and all the fun had along the way.”
