You’ve heard study abroad is life changing—from upperclassmen, faculty at your home university, and yes, now we’re echoing the same belief. But we know it can be hard to picture “future you” in a place you might not have been before. So, we’ve curated photos from our students abroad to show you what life abroad is like.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and these are no exception. The camera rolls of our students and center staff have captured it all: taking in iconic sights, building life-long friendships, and so much more.

If you’re on the hunt for a Spring 2026 study abroad mood board, keep reading—this is one you won’t want to miss 😉

  1. Getting culturally immersed. One of many things that sets study abroad apart from just traveling to a new location is the ability to more fully experience the local culture. Whether it’s gaining opportunities to practice language skills in and outside of the classroom or participating in cultural traditions, you have the freedom to create the meaningful journey of your dreams.

  1. Building new connections. During your term abroad there are countless people you'll meet; from peers in your program to members of a host family or the staff at your favorite cafe—they all bring the wonder of study abroad to life. It doesn't stop there, our staff helps you build community on the ground from an in-depth orientation and language crash courses, to volunteer opportunities, and events led by local student partners.

  1. Exploring your host country. What you've seen on Instagram reels is only scratching the surface. Arriving in your host country will be a feast for your senses, with each of our destinations offering it's own unique flavor. If you're in need of inspiration on what to dig into first; take it from some previous students. There's so much to discover from local eateries to museums and outdoor activities (regardless of the climate)!

Also, our programs often include field trips within your program fees that allow you to expand your exploration within the cultural context—something most tourists don't get to do.

  1. Create unforgettable memories through your program's Center. Each Center offers a shared space for you to spend time with peers and staff throughout the term; we like to think of it as your "home base". It's a space that's always there for you to rest, study, and connect.

In the mood to try something new? From planning cooking classes to field trips, they're eager to use their local expertise for worldwide fun!
